A meeting was held with Mr. Rashid Islam Mughal, Chairman of the Town Committee Sanghar, and Mr. Mumtaz Mangi, District Project Manager, HANDS-ASHA Independent Living Centre (ILC) Sanghar.
During the discussion, various issues faced by persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Sanghar were highlighted, including:
Barriers to mobility and access to public services
Lack of awareness about rights and entitlements
Limited opportunities for skill development and employment
Mr. Mangi shared the ongoing efforts and services provided by the ILC Sanghar, emphasizing its role in:
Empowering PWDs through training and skill-building programs
Facilitating access to disability certificates, CNICs, and government support schemes
Promoting social inclusion and independent living
Mr. Rashid Islam Mughal appreciated the initiative, noting that it is a unique centre dedicated to supporting and empowering PWDs in the district. He expressed his willingness to extend cooperation and support for the sustainability and further strengthening of ILC Sanghar’s activities.
