Mumtaz Mangi, DPM of HANDS-ASHA Independent Living Centre (ILC) Sanghar,
held a fruitful meeting with Mr. Zohaib Noonari, District Executive Manager of HANDS Sanghar, at his office. During the meeting, Mumtaz Mangi provided a detailed briefing on the progress and ongoing initiatives at the Independent Living Centre.
He shared updates on the various services being provided to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Sanghar, including:
Guidance and support for obtaining CNICs, disability certificates, and voter registration
Awareness sessions on disability rights and government schemes
Vocational training and skill-building workshops
Linkages with departments like NADRA, DEPD, Social Welfare, Bait-ul-Mal, and Election Commission
Confidence-building, motivation, and IT/AI learning sessions for PWDs
Upcoming activities were also discussed, which include:
A mega event showcasing talent and inclusion of PWDs through games, competitions, and entertainment
Voter education and CNIC facilitation drives
Enhanced outreach in rural areas for disability certification and assistive device support
Mr. Zohaib Noonari appreciated the efforts and commitment of the ILC team and remarked that the Independent Living Centre is performing very well in empowering the PWD community in Sanghar.
He encouraged the continuation of these impactful initiatives and assured support where needed.
