On 31 July 2025, Mumtaz Mangi, District Project Manager of the HANDS-ASHA Independent Living Centre (ILC) Sanghar, held a productive meeting with Mr. Zohaib Noonari, District Executive Manager of HANDS Foundation Sanghar, at the HANDS District Office in Sanghar. During the meeting, Mr. Mangi provided a detailed briefing on the progress and ongoing initiatives at the Independent Living Centre. He shared updates on the various services being provided to persons with disabilities in Sanghar, including guidance and support for obtaining CNICs, disability certificates, and voter registration; awareness sessions on disability rights and government schemes; vocational training and skill-building workshops; linkages with departments such as NADRA, DEPD, Social Welfare, Bait-ul-Mal, and the Election Commission; as well as confidence-building, motivation, and IT/AI learning sessions for persons with disabilities.
Looking ahead, Mr. Mangi also discussed upcoming activities, which include a mega event showcasing the talent and inclusion of persons with disabilities through games, competitions, and entertainment; voter education and CNIC facilitation drives; and enhanced outreach in rural areas for disability certification and assistive device support. In response, Mr. Zohaib Noonari appreciated the efforts and commitment of the ILC team and remarked that the Independent Living Centre is performing very well in empowering the community of persons with disabilities in Sanghar. He encouraged the continuation of these impactful initiatives and assured his full support wherever needed.
